As a result of the project, all creditor agreements were renegotiated, and bundling was implemented in selected material groups. A lead buyer system was also introduced. Furthermore, consistent, disciplined, and systematic negotiation, along with monitoring of call-offs, reduced maverick buying.

With minimal effort, we quickly identified our potential savings and then, together with the entire team, achieved one saving after another, step by step. Crucially, the analysis and the jointly developed improvement plan were quickly implementable, allowing all participating purchasing managers to achieve immediate, tangible results.

SUCCESS STORY RHI AG

RHI AG – the world market leader in refractories – is constantly and systematically searching for potential savings and regularly implements targeted activities to realize them. In addition to the annual savings targets and activities, a project was launched with the aim of achieving further savings in the purchasing area.

After a short analysis phase (within 4-6 weeks), savings in the order of Potential problems of €20 million (approximately 7.5% of the targeted procurement volume) were identified. Within six months, around
€5 million were identified, and after 1.5 years, approximately. €16 million (80% of the identified savings potential) realized as savings.

The remaining approximately 4 million euros flowed into the company's coffers over the next six months (total savings realized within two years). The company's return on investment was thus significantly improved at a rapid pace.

The results presented relate to a specific individual project and cannot be readily transferred to other companies or projects.
